Yuma Arizona Proving Ground wants to rid water of arsenic

YUMA, AZ — High arsenic levels in drinking water from wells at the US Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) mean that employees rely on bottled water and homes on the base are equipped with point-of-use reverse osmosis units, according to a January 16 Yuma Sun article. While arsenic is a familiar problem here — it’s found naturally in the bedrock and soil of Yuma County — the YPG wants a complete water treatment system to resolve the arsenic issue and will ask the Army for one.
