Alaska city voters say 'no' to fluoride

JUNEAU, AK — A 61 percent majority of residents here voted “no” earlier this week to fluoridating the city’s water supplies, an October 3 Juneau Empire story said.

David Ottoson, a member of the anti-fluoridation group Juneau Citizens for Safe Water, said in the story, “There’s a lot of smart people in Juneau, and they understood the issue very well, and it was reflected in the result at the polls.”

Ottoson said that there are better ways to for people to get fluoride.
